Finally.... Some Photos

So I finally figured out how to get photos on the computer. It's a little tedious to get them on, but I was able to work it out.
Here's the photos I promised from my trip to St. Louis...

Had fun making her mimick the statues!

This little waterfall looked so peaceful.

Fun pretending to sword fight!

This one is my favorite!

Went to a Christmas doll meet today and took some photos.
Lots of cute tinies!

Noticed I haven't been here in awhile......

So I thought I'd put up an update. I now have a job as a nanny and get to watch a couple of little girls. Very thankful for my job, was getting tired of being unemployed.
I had a wonderful Thanksgiving, went to St. Lous and visited family. Was nice to spend Thanksgiving surrounded by family. Went to the zoo there, I have to say that was the most awesome penquin exibit I've ever seen!
My doll finally has a name...
Satomi Erina Ohayashi         So glad she finally has a name. During Thanksgiving I took some photos of her with some Japanese items (One of my cousins is part Japanese). Had lots of fun doing that, I'll try to get some photos up soon. But will see how things go.
Right now I'm working on an African dress for my African American doll. Found some pretty fabric at JoAnn and now need to work on the pattern. Been awhile since I've made my own pattern, so that should be fun!

Job hunting and other such things....

So I went to take an assessment test for the GED preparation classes and found out that the October classes were already full. So now I have to wait for January. In the mean time I'm job hunting.
I've finished painting my doll all up, am working on naming her, and making her some wings. Some day I'll take photos and post them. At the moment I only have access to a computer that is difficult to load photos to. Will still try to keep things updated as well as possible with out photos for now!

Update....

I'm now living with my grandparents. Finished my unpacking last week. Went and took the assesment test and found out take the October classes are already full. So I have to wait for the January classes. In the meantime I look for a job.
I've been working on my girl for the last couple of days. She now has bottom lashes and lips. All thats left now is the top lashes, lip gloss, and a matte gloss for her eyelids. I've also been looking at names, so hopefully she'll have a name soon! Excited about having her back in one piece. :)

Will be gone for awhile....

Thought I'd warn everyone that I will not be posting for awhile. I'm in the middle of moving in with my grandparents to work on my education. Looking forward to being able to complete my basic schooling. A bit nervous just because I've never done anything like this before, but I'm sure I'll do fine once I get started!
I'm not sure how often I'll post once school starts. That will be my number one priority for awhile, so crafts might be pushed aside for some time. I'll probably still try to update my blog at least once a month, just have to see how it goes!

Hands and Feet

Here are the photos of the hands and feet, still haven't taken a photo of the wig yet. I'm still working on the faces, I need to put on lips and eyelashes. Then that will be complete!

The palms of her hands got a little orange, but I decided I liked it anyhow. I didn't realize just how many hands I have until I had them all together.

I loved putting on her finger nails, they turned out so pretty.

Decided to color the bottom of her feet and gave her toe nails. Such cute little feet! I'm happy with how it all turned out.

Been gone to long

I am horrified, I told myself I would post at least once a week and realized I haven't done anything for a month. I have finished blushing the hands and feet, they turned out really nice. I've finished dying the white furr pink and making it into a wig. The wig is the perfect color for my girl. I still haven't picked out a name for her, need to get busy on that.
I'm working on her faces right now. I tried a tricked I read about on DoA to take a piece of tape draw the shape you want your eyebrow to be cut it out and use it as a template. It was sooo much easier that way, didn't take near as long to draw them all on and have them match.
I have photos of the hands and feet, but right now I don't have a computer to upload them to. As soon as I do I'll post them. I also plan to take some photos of her new wig. And maybe by then she'll have a face also!

Working on My Girl Again

I am finally able to work on my girl again, it's been to humid to spray paint. I started her hands and feet today! Feels good to be working on her again. Since I wasn't able to paint her I've been working on some clothing designs. I'm hoping to get her hands and feet done in the next couple of days, then start on my face-plates.

Sigh and Botheration

Well this week has been pretty unproductive. I got pink eye on Saturday and it is just now leaving. So I didn't get any doll projects done. Plus some how my glasses got lost, so I've been half blind since I got pink eye(I usually wear contacts). So looking forward to next week.
Hoping to be able to work on her again soon. I'm going to work on the hands and feet next. I think the hardest part will be getting all the blush to match, I have many pairs of hands to paint. :) I finished looking at the Japanese names, now to tackle the next language!

Body Blush

I've been working on getting my doll together, a couple of days ago I finished her body blushing. I did a light blushing, didn't want the really pink blushing.  I made her shoulders a little too tan. Oh well, she's a fairy, so she's just been in the sun. :) It's already chipping a little on the shoulders, but that area gets rubbed a lot.

Decided to give her a tattoo, was fun designing it. It's there to hide a rough spot, decided I'd rather put on a tattoo than take of all the paint.

Also after painting her all up, she can arch her back with no sueding at all! Very excited about that. I've started looking at names, always takes me awhile to pick a name. I like to look at several different languages before I decide. Next thing I plan to do is blush her hands and feet. And give her finger and toe nails. Saving her face for last, the face is going to be the hardest to make look right. And I think I'm going to get some eyelashes.
Decided (with Grams' help) that she will have several different wings to go with all her different outfits. Been working on some different designs. I also bought another piece of fur that is longer fur to make another wig with. It's a piece of white fur, I'm going to dye it pink and probably stick two ponytails in it!

A Little Longer Than I Thought

I've been spraying my doll with clear paint for the last few days. Yesterday I ran out of spray. :(  I live an hour and a half away from the nearest place that has testors dullcote(the paint I use). So now I have to wait 'till Saturday (when we go into town anyways) to get more. I'm taking all my supplies with me so I can work on her at Grams and Grandoug's.
Hoping to get her put back together over the weekend. It makes me nervous having her in pieces. Can't wait to get her back together again!

Took a leap...

...And pulled apart my doll, very nerve wrecking. I was just going to spray paint her all in one piece, then as I was removing the layer of paint I had put on to protect her,(the one layer got dirt under it) I got water on her elastic. I remembered reading somewhere that you don't want to leave your doll together if the elastic is wet, something about it stretching out faster. So I've taken her apart, she'll dry over night and tomorrow I'll start spraying her all up. Since I was brave enough to take her apart I'll be paint her in pieces and put her together when she is painted. It will make the clear paint more even. I'm not worried about getting her back together, I think that will be the easy part. :) Looking forward to making her look pretty tomorrow!

Clothes for my Girl

I finally got around to taking some photos of her in her dress and underpants. I had to adjust the dress when she got here, it was just a little bit to big on the sides. The underpants I made when she got here, used a tutorial on DoA that showed you how to make custom for your doll underpants.
Her hair is a bit messy in the photo of the back of the dress, she kept falling over. I was getting tired of fixing her hair, only to have her fall on her face again!

Doll Workshop

I went to my second doll meet on Saturday and we had a doll workshop going on. It ended up being only the hostess and I who were there. Had lots of fun putting together doll furniture and talking. She helped me with a couple of problems I was having with my doll, so nice to have someone who understands what I'm talking about and be able to help. I made a sofa and she made a tuffet. Wish I would have thought to take photos of her doll on the chair she made, my brain didn't seem to want to work that day. I kept putting things together backwards!

I took some photos of my girl sleeping on her sofa with the new lap blanket I made her. I love how she looks like she conked out on the chair. So loving this girl! Now to decide whether to paint her or name her first.

Box Opening!!!!

So this morning I heard the door bell ring and wondered "Who could that be?", looked
through the peep hole and saw the mailman with a box that looked like the right kind of
box for a littlefee. I thought "Surely not yet?!", opened the door and saw it was from
Denver Doll! I squealed with joy, after I closed the door. :)
Goodies that came with my order, several postcards and a couple of stickers!

The bright pink booklet is the owners manual and the bubble wrapped item
is the sleeping head. The blue box is what she came in.
Squee! Was so excited opening her up, if only she hadn't come with red eyes.
Glad I bought some green ones for my practice head.
                                                           My extra hands!
Sleepy head!
Did this one just for fun!

My beautiful girl after I fixed her foot. Was so glad to have the people at DoA
to help me figure out what to do!

Problem Solved?

I think I may have found the problem, now to figure out how to fix her.

My Girl is Home!!

This morning the mailman brought me my doll! Very excited that she is here. Only thing is her left foot refuses to go on, so it's off to DoA to see if someone can help me. The ball part is just a tiny bit to big, or at least that's what it looks like to me. I'll put up box opening photos later.

Second Face-up

I wiped off the old face-up on my practice head and repainted it. I was not happy with the first one. So this time I read up on different ways to do a face-up and got some advice from some gals at a doll meet. I took the advise from on of the gals to do it in layers, that helped a ton. Used more pastels than last time, found someone on youtube using the pastels as powder with a paint brush, I really like the results from the pastels. I also used water color pencils, made doing lashes a lot easier. :) I'll probably use paint next time for the eye liner, didn't like the way it turned out, I think it would probably look better with paint. I loved the way her blush turn out, I am definitely blushing my girl's ears when she gets here. With her little elf ears it will be adorable!

Waiting...

So I've made my last payment on my girl and am now awaiting her arrival. As I wait I've been watching some youtube videos with littlefees in them. Watching how to change her head and hands again, don't want to break her when she gets here. :) And looking at some of the amazing poses this doll can do, I forgot about some of the things she can do. Can't wait to get my girl home and try them out myself!
These are my favorite videos reviewing the mobility and posing abilities of the littlefee...

I was very excited when noozieviolets put these up, I'd been waiting for someone to review the littlefee and then she did it!

My Girl is in the U.S.A.!!!

I got an email today saying my doll has arrived at Denver Doll Emporium!! I'm sooo excited, she is very close to getting home. Can't wait for her to get here. It will be so much fun playing with her and learning how to pose her!

Masquerade Party

I went to Laura's bachelorette last tuesday, there was a masquerade theme going on. I made my own mask because I wanted a butterfly shape and I couldn't find any pre-made where I live. :) I had lots of fun putting the mask together. Found  fabric to match my dress, embroidered vines and leaves, and sewed some sheer black flowers on it. My dress I found for five bucks at salvation army. Borrowed heels from Grams, leggings from my bride's maid outfit, and I was ready to go! I had a wonderful time hanging out with Laura and the bridal party!

Fur Samples

My fur samples from distinctive fabric arrived today! If you make an account there you get five free fabric samples. I first heard about it on DoA(a doll forum), people there said they were able to make a wig that would cover the minifee head and the head on the doll I'm getting is smaller. So I'm hoping to make some wigs for her with this fur. I love how vibrant the colors are and the fur is very soft. The red, dark brown, and sage are three inch long fur swatches. The camel and pretty in pink are two inch long swatches. Now I just have to wait for my girl to get here!

Dress for my girl

I made the pants and was not pleased at all with how the turned out. I'll be keeping them to see if they look any better when they're actually on the doll, but they just look weird right now. I made this dress instead using MelancholyWing's pattern that is proven to fit my girl when she gets here. I'm much happier with how this turned out, a perfect coming home dress! I tried something different for the back closer and really like how it turned out.
I asked dde for a status on my doll a couple of days ago, she said that the early February orders were just now being shipped from Korea (My order is a late February order.) that hopefully my order should be shipped soon. I squealed when I got that, I can't wait for her to get home! I now know why people say the waiting is the hardest part about this hobby.

Littlefee Sweater

I finished my sweater for my girl when she gets here. I got the basic package(meaning she comes with absolutely nothing on), so she'll need some clothes when she gets here! This is the first piece to the outfit I'm working on, I still need to make some pants, socks, and shoes. I used Wovenflame's tunic sweater pattern. I added some stripes and put on some bead flowers on the neckline. I'm very happy with how it turned out and the pattern was easy to work with. I can't wait for her to get here so I can try it on!
One other thing, if you click on the photos they will get bigger so you can see the detail better.

First Face-up

I decided to start a blog so I could share the crafts I've been up to with friends and family, the first of these being my first face-up. There are some things I definitely need to work on, but I had fun playing around with it. This head is a Fairyland Littefee Winking Ante faceplate bw skin, I bought it just for practicing on, though I think someday it will claim a body. When I first showed it to my Grandoug with no eye in it's head he said it was quite disturbing, he was fine with it after I put the eye in. :) It amazes me how much difference it makes just putting in an eye. I've already thought of some characters I could turn it into.
I've passed working day 40 of my wait on my Littlefee DES I order. I am getting antsy here and hope I get some news soon. She will be my first bjd and I'm very excited about getting her.

I also took these photos of my faceplate, was trying to be more artsy with my photos. I found my stone necklaces and thought they looked perfect with it's eyes.
